TiEnergy Advances Chris McGill to Strategic Account Manager, Contractor Implementation

The reorganization move is part of a national expansion to keep pace with demand for sustainable rail tie recycling

Hampshire, Illinois (August 29, 2023) – TiEnergy, a family-owned railroad tie recycling and repurposing company, announced the move of Chris McGill to Strategic Account Manager, Contractor Implementation. TiEnergy’s track record of innovation in developing sustainable solutions for Class I, Class II, and Short Line railroads, commercial and industrial companies, and landfills is spurring nationwide demand for its services. McGill has managed accounts for the company ranging from small general contractors to large corporations, and he’ll take on additional account responsibilities in his expanded role.

“Chris will be an integral part of TiEnergy’s continued growth, and his positive energy, extensive business development experience, and ability to partner with people across the industry make him the ideal candidate for the Strategic Account position,” says TiEnergy’s CEO and Founder Steve Berglund. “As a family-owned company with a close-knit team, it’s imperative that our employees can take on the demands of a dynamic industry while also blending into our work culture, and Chris has become a key part of our work family.”

McGill recently celebrated his five-year anniversary with the organization, where he served as Account Manager for TiEnergy’s parent company, Midwest Companies, before stepping into his new role. The nature of TiEnergy’s work requires close coordination with all stakeholders, including contractors. McGill’s responsibilities include developing relationships with customers and partner organizations, shepherding contractors through TiEnergy customized solutions, and acting as a liaison with railroad leadership teams. Because more than 20 million railroad ties go out of service each year, disposing of them sustainably is an ongoing concern for railroads. TiEnergy’s solutions save 3.06 pounds of carbon per tie while helping customers meet sustainability goals.

McGill is active in his local Huntley community, where he volunteers for charitable organizations supporting children and animals and takes on leadership roles for his family’s activities such as Boy Scouts of America and Little League. He has been recognized as Employee of the Month at Midwest Companies and consistently achieves year-over-year increases in sales growth and total accounts.
